In my previous travels to France I used to go to Paris and south of France but last time as I was short in time, I decided to change and go to Paris and Normandy. That was the occasion for me to visit Mont-St-Michel which is a small rocky island about 1 km from the north coast of France in Normandy.
This medieval Benedictine Abbey and steepled church occupy most of the 1km-diameter clump of rocks. It is something very unique I really recommend.
